useful to make conscience of somethings but unnecessary to other things o.O
like when theres no option and one have to make a choice but your have to be fearless or everything is going to hell

I think it's neither necessary nor unnecessary. It can be unnecessary when one dwells on a fear and acts upon only the fear itself - unless it's a life threatening situation, then it becomes necessary to act upon that fear.
